Too many problems
I am using my THIRD Treo, and had to endure a great deal of confusion and slow responses as I attempted to replace the defective units. Operationally, it's actually quite good, EXCEPT you just can't see the screen in daylight - a problem when that's your phone pad! The concept is great, but it isn't there yet...

Best Gadget I ever purchased
I give the Treo 2 thumbs up. It is easy to use, easy to learn, light weight, The phone is great, the graphics are great, the features are great. I sugest that you buy a charging cradel or two for several locations to keep the batery alive. It does need a recharge at least once a day.

Missing Key Phone components
For all the design innovation, they ommitted a mute function, and as minor as this sounds, try having a meeting on this phone with the headset and you'll notice the interference from the headset cable is horrid. Response from Handspring is a software upgrade to include mute is strong possibility. Dont invest in it until that happens, I have no choice but to go back to my nokia and Prism, for now.

Just What I Was Looking For
First I had a Nokia 5120 and a Day Planner, and it worked for many years. Then I went digital and got a Visor Prism and a VisorPhone. But only after 4 months it became too "clunky" so I stopped using the VisorPhone and got a Nokia 8290 and IrDA with my Prism. After 2 months of that... found the money needed for a brand new Treo 270. One unit, small form factor, does everything that I need... I'm happy.

Great Little Machine
I loved the original Treo 180g but it seemed that every couple of days I would encounter a web site that made me wish it had a color screen. Eventually, this lust for color became too great to resist and I got the 270. I'm enjoying this machine, adjusting to a keyboard instead of Graffiti has turned out to be pretty easy and I can still use Graffiti with RecoEcho. They've improved the functionality of the Jog Rocker. The color is a little disappointing but otherwise, I love it.

No analog!
US cellphone service can be very spotty (well, duh, it's a Big country). Where there isn't digital, there's analog.... except if you have a Treo. That's why I picked the Samsung SPH-i300, and I'm happy I did. Evry time I leave the metro area and the red "A" appears, I know I have signal that I could not wiht the Treo.
