Bluetooth fails 90% of time |
I've had this 700WX for over 10 months. I have the phone for work because of the Good Link support but with the Bluetooth on it will lock up at least 3 to 4 times per day. When i make calls using a Bluetooth headset it always sounds garbled from the person I'm calling. Verizon replaced the phone once but will not help with the Bluetooth issues. I had better luck with my Samsung i730.

Bombs Away |
I got my Verizon 700wx as a replacement for a 700w that kept locking up. Guess what? The 700wx seems almost as bad. The phone doesn't always ring and instead sends calls straight to voice mail, without even a missed call message on the display. When on a call, you often can't answer another incoming call. Bluetooth connections only work about 70% of the time (which is up from 50% with the 700w). The latest was my phone started announcing it was "unable to start services.exe" and stopped syncing with our Exchange server. I've had to hard reset it about once a month to deal with one thing or another. In my opinion, this line of Treos is a disaster and Verizon support is no help.

After trying Blackberry, Q and Treo.. I pick TREO -- all the way. |
I became OCD looking for a phone. I needed something reliable, dynamic, fun, and functional. The blackberry was a little bit faster but it reminded me of a calculator in that it always worked but you couldn't do much with it, and it didn't have any room for growth. In the end, regardless of the competing reviews and regardless of the status that I THOUGHT came with the blackberry.. I pick the TREO 100%. If you have ANY questions.. seriously email me -- I did a ton of work on this.

Not so Smart!! |
I have Alltel and when out of my local area I have a steady roaming icon "R" which normally indicates that roaming charges will apply. Turns out, this is not the case. The phone doesn't have the capability that other phones do of flashing the roaming icon when out of your local area to indicate you are roaming but no extra charges apply. Maybe this is just an Alltel thing??

Great Phone |
I seems there are a few posts where people have had problems with the 700wx. I have had no problems at all. I guess it's the luck of the draw. Regardless, based on my experience I would highly recommend the phone.

Drops bluetooth intermittently, drops voice input, extremely slow USB activeSync when it works at all, signal strength worse that treo 600, ... |
drops bluetooth intermittently so handsfree device is disconnected unexpectedly, other person can't hear you but you can hear them when initiating or receiving phone calls (with or without bluetooth device) 10% of calls, extremely slow USB activeSync when it works at all, signal strength worse than Treo600, device locks up requiring frequent soft resets, evdo may work one time but then stop working - soft reset seems to restore evdo. I'm hoping this problem can be fixed by a replacement 700wx and not a problem with Win Mobil 5 or Sprint.
