Outstanding Phone and iSync Support Out of the Box
This phone is an excellent upgrade both in size and performance from the 700p. No skipping on ptunes at all. THe size is fantastic. To the person who insists there is no iSync support, check with Apple. There is an iSync conduit that is part of Palm Desktop. You need to enable it for your Centro and then you can sync your Centro with your Apple Address Book and iCal. I wish the battery life were better but if I keep it plugged in when I am at work, it is not a big deal. All of my old Treo accessories work with it, so that has been a huge money saver. I highly recommend this phone to newbies and experienced smartphone people alike. You will not be disappointed.

FINALLY! A one-hand smartphone for email, IM, and calendar.
I have been waiting a long time for a "lite" version of a Palm phone, since Sprint discontinued the Samsung i500. I had one and loved the Palm OS and clamshell design (didn't love the lack of SMS and few bugs). When it died, I couldn't quite pony up the big bucks for a Treo, so settled for a Razor. Well, with no sync capability to my calendar and contacts, it was pretty much useless in that regard. The Centro does what it does well - phone, contacts, calendar, email (from Yahoo, GMail, and comcast POP accounts), IM, web access for sports scores, movies, maps. This is not a phone for folks who need to email and send docs all day long (get a Treo or Blackberry), but for the rest of us, who may need to check/send a quick email during a lunch appointment, check scores during long meetings, etc. Screen is a little small and yes, it doesn't have the WOW factor of the iPhone, but for those of us who are handcuffed to Sprint, it's a great choice.

Fantastic Update to a 650
I love my new Palm Centro. Smaller, lighter, cuter than my 650. A nice update that includes EVDO for faster downloads. The smaller keyboard is taking some getting used to, but I'm adapting quickly. For anyone with a 650 looking for an update, this one's a no-brainer.

Huge jump from Treo 650
Look, the Palm, any Palm, is a remarkable powerful computer, with an array of slick, lovingly developed apps of all manner from solid useful functionality to whimsical diversion. The Centro is much easier to operate than the 650, and size is now manageable. Battery life is noticeably diminished, so plan for this. A plus - your Treo charger and many accessories are fully compatible.

BIG improvement over Treo
I love the smaller lighter design. The keyboard though is a bit crammed. Its not to big a issue but when trying to reply quickly you can get lots of typos. It is fast, and as usual the screen and speaker are awesome. Palm devices are the only ones I've never had a complaint with the speaker quality and thats awesome for making your own ringtones. They come through loud and clear. One thing they have never been good at was a decent camera. I know thats not the point of a pda, but it would be nice to have a flash, and at least some basic balance controls. The battery cover is a pain to get off and back on again but hopefully i wont have to remove that a lot! :) Same with the card slot. tricky to get the micro card in there when the door wants to spring back down. But those are all small comprimises to the new lighter thinner design.

Excellent, but what about iSync Compatibility
Just got this Palm Centro today for a family member. I have a Treo 650 myself. Everything seems the same as the Treo with the exception of improvements such as the lighter weight and size. The quality appears excellent. It seems to be made solid and the styling is very nice. I'm really hooked on it. My only dissapointment so far has been attempts to add this device to iSync 2.4 on Mac OS 10.4.10 On attempting to add the device in iSync, the screen informs me that this device is not supported by iSync. Unfortunately, it is late and Apple Customer Support is not open to offer an answer about this problem. I hope this is a small issue that is easily rectified because based on what I have seen-I want to change from my Treo to a Centro. However, all of my contacts and calendar functions are linked in Mac OS to iCal and Address Book right now and I like it that way. If others find this issue to persist, please pester Apple to do something or post any fixes you find onto the internet.
