Palm Centro for ATT by Acrocat Software, L.L.C.

>> Read Review (Rating 4/5) <<

The Palm Centro is the successor to the Treo 680. It sports a 320x320 touchscreen, a full QWERTY keyboard, and a quad-band EDGE radio for connectivity. It runs PalmOS Garnet v5.4.9, has bluetooth 1.2, and 4 hours of talk time. But the Centro's best feature is its size -it's a ton of power in a tiny package.

Awesome little bargain phone
This is a terrific phone. Sound is great, features good, price awesome! I know everyone drools over the iPhone but the cost is ridiculous. I picked up the Centro from AT&T for $29 after rebate. It may not be as flashy as the iPhone but has many of the same features. The buttons are miniature but surprisingly usable even for my husband with his giant man hands. Syncs great with my Mac after getting Missing Sync - even syncs my iTunes songs. Great quality speakerphone too - people can't tell the difference when I switch back and forth. Bluetooth headset even better. Love the bluetooth syncing also.

I am Surprisingly Happy
I use my Palm TX for everything from listening to music, to capture my expenses and other financial information with Pocket Quicken and Expensable. So I really needed to continue to use these programs on a more reliable device. These programs work even better with the Centro. I no longer have to worry about calibrating a funky screen, or slow response. I have fat fingers too, and I have quickly adopted to the keyboard. So life is good with my Centro.

Everything just works
I have owned Visor 2MB, Visor Pro, Treo 600, Treo 650 and finally settled on Treo Centro. It is truly a low cost device, but I give Palm credit where credit is due. I had many issues with Treo 600 and more with Treo 650. None of those issues exist on Centro. From a hardware standpoint, calls are clear and speaker works well. Bluetooth hooks up to my HandsfreeLink in my new Honda. Life is good. I agree that the keyboard is small, but once you get used to it, it works just fine. Issues - Camera still sucks. Please palm, give me a nice camera! Also, I love playing NES games on my treo (from kalemsoft). But they haven't added keyboard support for Centro. Worked on 650.

I liked it
I think if you have huge fingers then no you will not like this phone, but I like it and I have fat fingers.....I looked at the touch screen phones with on screen buttons and found them worse in some areas and I made more mistakes with them then with this one. Time tested Palm OS really a good phone!

keyboard is just awful
Did a side by side of the ATT Centro and my Treo 680. Yes, the Centro is smaller and lighter, but not by as much as I expected. Compared to an iPhone its clunky. I really did not like the keyboard. Instead of real buttons, it has a plastic cover with bumps in it. The problem is not just that the keyboard is a bit smaller, but that the bumps don't stick up as far as the buttons on my 680, and its a lot harder to get a feel of which key you are on. I spent a fair amount of time on that, and don't think the Centro keyboard would ever be as efficient as the Treo one. Other than that, everything looked identical to the 680, which is good. But I think I'll wait for the next Treo rather than going to the Centro
