Paul Loeffler, Manager, Public Relations at Palm, has let us at TreoCentral know that Palm has just released some software updates.

First up is Palm's New Daylight Saving Time Changes for Palm OS and Windows Mobile devices.

Beginning in 2007, Daylight Saving Time (DST) starts on the second Sunday in March (March 11, 2007), and changes back to standard time on the first Sunday in November (November 4, 2007). This is a change from the current start/end date that is built into some Palm devices.

Palm devices, both smartphones and handhelds, need to be updated so that they reflect the correct time when the new DST changes take effect. Without the Daylight Saving Time Updates, calendar events and email messages will indicate an hour off the actual time in locations that observe DST. So be sure to download the update so you'll be on time for those doctor appointments and birthday parties.

Also, Palm has issued a software update for Microsoft(r) Office Outlook(r) 2007 on Windows XP and Windows Vista.

If you use Microsoft® Office Outlook® 2007 on Windows XP or Windows Vista, you'll need this update to perform HotSync operations with Outlook's Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Notes, as well as optional non-wireless Email sync.

The site states that the device requirements are any Palm OS device, from the original 1996 Palm Pilot to the most recent device. And of course the Windows Mobile devices such as Treo 750 or Treo 700wx are excluded.

Palm has also added an update on Windows Vista support. The page lists the known incompatibilities with Palm Desktop and HotSync Manager and Windows Vista among other vital information.
