StylusCentral’s 2-in-1 stylus pen is the first and only multi-functioning
stylus that we know of which also fits in the Treo silo. The stylus features a
ballpoint ink pen under the decorative black handle and a clear, lucent tip,
which also features a reset pin, which I will discuss later. This stylus is an
excellent alternative to the standard Treo stylus since it incorporates a pen
which can be used in times of need.
Usability
Essentially, the 2-in-1 stylus is the same as your standard, comparable in
length and weight, and using it with your Treo is no different. The bonus is the
pen located under the handle, easily accessed by pulling the handle straight off
from the stylus. This pen is great for taking down information in an emergency
situation; however, I would not want to take down meeting minutes with this pen,
due to the small size of the stylus. Since the stylus is so small in
circumference, applying pressure while writing with it for a long period of time
is difficult and uncomfortable.
Under the stylus tip, they have included a reset pin. However, StylusCentral has
a warning for use on their website. They actually warn not to use the reset pin
because it actually rests in the end of the ink refill and may have ink on it. I
have not had any problems with this and have used the reset pin many times
without trouble. I see no problem using the reset pin as long as you wipe the
tip off before use to remove any ink.
StylusCentral also sells ink refills in black, blue, green, and red. To replace
the ink, unscrew and remove the tip and let the old refill slide out. Place the
new refill in and screw the tip back on. Also, be sure not to invert the pen
when accessing the reset pin since the ink refill will fall out.
