Thank You for 30,000

Tue Aug 10, 2004 - 11:07 PM EDT - By Michael Ducker

Today, August 10th, 2004, TreoCentral registered it's 30,000th user, volkf. We would like to welcome volkf to the site, along with the other 10,000 users that registered to TreoCentral over the last year. It is the users that make a site interesting to come to every single day; we could never offer the varied opinions and knowledge that our forums offer. So, thank you to everyone for taking some time to read our articles, and most importantly participate in the forums. We are proud to be the oldest, largest, and best Treo community on the web.

We are here to help the Treo community, and we enjoy doing so. From providing timely news and helpful reviews, to donating hardware and forum space to independent developers, or providing the infrastructure for initiatives such as our Bluetooth Bounty, we want to be there to help out. And if you think that you can add something to our efforts to increase the Treo communities strength such as writing reviews, to new ideas for site features, please let Senior Editor, Michael Ducker, know through email: [email protected].

We admit that in our 5th year, we've had some troubles with site uptime, and we apologize for that. We now have daily backups made of everything, including the forums. And we have created new policies to notify users, and expedite the fixing of any site failure. We thank you to all the users who've stuck with us through this year, and we encourage the ones that gave up to keep an eye on what we're doing.

This summer we've greatly expanded our news coverage for the Treo, and we expect to be able to continue this level of discourse throughout the next year. There are a lot of great things happening to the Treo this year, and we're ready to report on any future developments. However, gathering news can often be difficult, and as we move into the Fall it would be great to see more tips sent to us through email. If you are a developer with a new version of your Treo specific software, or if you have new accessories, or any kind of Treo news, I would greatly appreciate if you would send me a heads up email to [email protected].

Lastly, I want to send a thank you out to all of our moderators who have helped keep our forum safe: MarkEagle, ToolKit, KRamsauer, and ronbo2000. Without them, the forums would be an unusable mess.

So again, thank you for reading, using, and participating in TreoCentral.com; we wouldn't be here without you.
