The case increases the comfort of the phone when the lid is closed and has just the right number of controls available. When the lid is open, the Treo is still protected and the keyboard and other elements easy to use. The major problem is that the case side of the clip mechanism is not nearly strong enough. The case screw goes into a piece of plastic and the point of contact is too small and the plastic obviously not strong enough. However, the case certainly does not need to be used with the clip, and with proper caution, should be okay to clip on in an indoor environment.
