Congrats to 1src for their 100th podcast!

Sprint 700wx Treos still can’t send SMS messages to non-Sprint phones consistently, as previously reported by TreoCentral.

Treos are getting released all over – especially the 700wx. No love for Verizon yet, though.

Verizon 650 ROM updated for Treo 650 - now 1.05a.

Palm’s has partnered with a new Ad firm, Y&R. The original story was buried in our 680 photo gallery

The CorePlayer has been released for both WM5 and POS. It's not quite as full-featured as TCPMP yet, but it's much simpler and much prettier -- it looks to be the media player to beat once it hits v1.5 or so.

TC Guide

This week's TC Guide was all about Treo security - a question about how to get the time to display on a "unlock screen" turned into a more general discussion about locking down your Treo. Specifically, we looked at a few apps, some of which allow you to actually remotely erase the data on your PalmOS Treo.

• Dieter just can't let go of the fact that Sprint 700wx Treos can't send SMS to non-Sprint phones, so he points out the thread where it all come to light.
• There’s also a bunch of 700p users who are trying to force Palm to release a bugfix ROM update. It should be said, as Mike pointed out in the podcast, that it might actually be tha carriers that are holding things up.
• Some other folks are also hacking on the 700w and wx – trying to get the threaded SMS app from the 750v working.
• One last thread: we’ve actually got a TC board member in Iraq right now and he is posting periodic updates “from the field” in our offtopic forum.
