Palm is celebrating their 10th birthday and we at TreoCentral are celebrating with them-by holding a "Hooked on Palm" short essay contest. The Grand Prize Winner will have the choice between a vintage Palm Pilot 1000 in its original shrink-wrap packaging or a new Palm LifeDrive mobile manager.

The Treo that we all know and love has a great ancestry. The original Palm Pilot brought many breakthrough features to the world of hand held devices, including: shirt pocket size, one-touch connectivity, speed and simplicity, easy and remote access to data, and ease of data entry.

So we'd like to hear from you. What got you "Hooked on Palm?" You've got ten (10) days to tell us, in 50-words or less. Here's one example:

"I finally got hooked on Palm in the Handspring days. I had a green Visor that I thought was way cool. It made sure I made it to my workouts-and became my 'work/life balance' guardian. Since then I've owned a Tungsten C, a Treo 600 and a Treo 650."

TreoCentral's panel of writers and editors will be looking for originality, comprehension, and creativity when judging entries. Along with a Grand Prize winner, we will also choose ten (10) first prize winners who will receive either a Collector's Edition Palm Birthday T-Shirt, or a 10-percent discount coupon for TreoCentral store, or a Palm commemorative candy tin.

This contest runs for only ten (10) days: From March 27, 2006 through April 5, 2006. To enter you need to be a member of our discussion boards, registration is free. Official Rules

1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY: TreoCentral Palm 10th Birthday Celebration Contest ("Contest") is open to all legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, age 18 years or older, except employees, officers, and directors of TreoCentral (“TC”) and participating vendors, and their immediate families (spouse, parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses) and household members whether or not related. Void where prohibited by law. Contest is governed by U.S. law and subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. By entering the Contest, entrants agree to accept and be bound by all terms of these Official Rules and Regulations ("Official Rules"). 2. HOW TO ENTER: From March 27, 2006 through April 5, 2006 (the "Promotional Period"), TC will conduct a national Contest encouraging participants to enter for a chance to win prizes. To enter, during the Promotional Period, participants must visit www.treocentral.com and complete and submit the online entry form, including their Treo Forum registered user name, and a 50 words or less essay, the topic of which must be what got them "Hooked on Palm." To be eligible: entries must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. PT on April 5, 2006. All entries must be submitted in the name of an individual person and the prize can only be awarded to the person whose name is on the winning entry. Entries generated by script, macro or any automated or mechanical means will be void. All entries become the property of TC and will not be acknowledged or returned. Limit one (1) entry per person. 3. HOW TO WIN: One (1) grand prize winner (the "Grand Prize Winner") and ten (10) first prize winners (the "First Prize Winners") (the "Winners") will be chosen by a panel of TC Writers and Editors on or around April 30, 2006, from among all eligible entries received during the Promotional Period. Entries will be judged on originality, comprehension, and creativity. The decision of the judges is final and binding in all matters. The odds of winning will depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Promotional Period. The Winners will be notified by e-mail and/or telephone and must meet all eligibility requirements including the timely execution and return of all necessary releases and documents (if any) required by TC. 4. PRIZES: One (1) Grand Prize Winner will have the choice between a vintage Palm Pilot 1000 in its original shrink-wrap packaging or a new Palm LifeDrive mobile manager. Ten (10) First Prize Winners will each receive at TC's choice a Collector’s Edition Palm Birthday T-Shirt, or a 10-percent discount coupon for TreoCentral store, or a Palm commemorative candy tin. No cash substitutions or transfer of prizes or cash redemptions will be permitted. TC reserves the right to substitute a prize (or portion thereof) of comparable or greater value, at our sole discretion. Prizes are awarded "as is" with no warranty or guarantee by TC, either expressed or implied. The Winners are responsible for the reporting and payment of all taxes (if any) as well as any other costs and expenses associated with acceptance and use of a prize. All prize details are at TC's sole discretion. Prizes will only be shipped via carrier of TC's choice to the actual winners, and only to a physical USA street address with a valid US Zip code (no Post Office, APO, FPO or other boxes). 5. GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS: By entering this Contest, participants grant TC and their assignees the right, unless prohibited by law, to use their names, cities and states of residence, voices, pictures and likenesses, without compensation, notification or approval, for the purpose of advertising and publicizing the goods and services of TC and all matters related to the Contest, in any manner or medium, now or hereafter known, throughout the world in perpetuity. The Winners may be required to execute, without limitation, an affidavit of eligibility, liability release, tax acknowledgement form and, except where prohibited by law, a liability and publicity release within five (5) business days of issuance of notification. Noncompliance within this time period of a potential Winner to respond to a notification attempt within five (5) days of such attempt may result in disqualification and, at TC's discretion, an alternate winner may be selected. If: (i) any prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, (ii) a Winner declines his or her prize or (iii) a Winner fails to comply with any of these Official Rules, such Winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected at the TC's sole discretion.
