OtterBox Unveils Defender Series for Palm Treo Pro

Fri Oct 9, 2009 - 6:47 PM EDT - By Annie Latham

OtterBox has stepped up its protection game for the Palm Treo Pro with a case they refer to as "equilibrium on the go."

The just announced OtterBox Defender Series for the PalmĀ® Treo Pro ($49.95) offers super-rugged protection from drops, bumps, dust and shock. All features, keys and ports are accessible through the case, providing you with what they call "a unique, interactive safeguard." It ships with a holster style ratcheting belt clip.

It features a three layer design:

>> Layer 1: Clear, hi-impact polycarbonate covers the screen and camera to protect against scratching, as well as dust intrusion. A thermal formed protective clear PVC membrane covers the keypad (layer optional depending on the level of ruggedization desired).

>> Layer 2: Hi-impact polycarbonate shell

>> Layer 3: Silicone skin to absorb bump and shock. Silicone plugs and pass-through buttons keep ports sealed to prevent dust intrusion while providing complete access to all device features including power, ringer/toggle switch, stylus, sync/charge, microphone, camera, WiFi, IR Port, LED, convenience and volume keys. Acoustic vents over the speaker phone and headset allow clear sound transmission.

You can learn more about it on the OtterBox website.
