Treo 650 Announced

Mon Oct 25, 2004 - 1:10 AM EDT - By Michael Ducker, Marcus Adolfsson

Availability

It is expected that the Treo 650 will launch on Sprint PCS first, in November for $599. At that price, it is disappointing that palmOne did not include an extra 32 MB of memory or a higher resolution camera. It is also surprising that such a high end phone still has no built in voice memo application, or any form of voice control. Most phones, even the ones that come free with service action have those features. Still, that's the point of third party applications, and the point of running on an open Palm OS platform. The flexibility is there to fix most of the oversights or minor features that not everyone wants. The Treo 650 is a great addition the the Treo line, and address most of the major concerns with the Treo 600.

TreoCentral will continue to have have full coverage of Treo 650 launch, with hands-on reports and video, throughout Monday and Tuesday.
