FAQ: My SD card pops or falls out of my Treo! What can I do to stop this?

FAQ #12: Hardware. By treo.tc. Status: Public, 17587 views. Flag for Review

This is because the SD cards extend just a little higher than the Treo's slot. When you accidentally hit the sd card it pops out due to the spring action. There are a number of workarounds...

1. You can simply try to avoid hitting the card to keep this from happening (good luck).

2. Buy a case for the Treo that covers the slot.

3. Wrap a length of scotch tape around the card such that it adds a single layer per side with the tape seam in the middle. When you insert the card, it will be snug. This provides enough friction so that the card will stay put. You can still extract the card with your fingernail between the edge of the card and the back edge of the slot since most SD cards have a groove you can catch.

4. Another method requires that the SD card be filed down flush with the top of the Treo itself. USE WITH CAUTION since this method *WILL VOID YOUR SD CARD WARRANTY* so do this at your own risk.
